In one of my many trips to home depot I found a Weber charcoal grate that looked like it just might fit my Big Green Egg.  I took a shot and bought the thing.  When I got home I pulled out my Big Green Egg charcoal grate and layed them onto of each other:

Well what do you know!!  They are the exact same size!  So I can now use this Weber grate with my Big Green Egg and get a lot more airflow.  Since this grate was so inexpensive I may get a second and cross-hatch the two grates so I still get great airflow, but I also will catch many of the smaller charcoal pices.

In general this is awesome because a highque is selling a similar grate replacement for large Big Green Eggs, but it is only for large Big Green Eggs, and it is $30!!!  

I'll post again if the Weber grate doesn't hold up, but for the most part Weber makes quality stuff so I am expecting this to last a while.
